This past year has been by far the best in both of our lives, and we have been racing wildly yet consciously into our Love: hearts and eyes wide open with astonished joy, giddily laughing all the way. We had no idea love could be like this! Yet, we realize we have not made it easy for some of you to follow this adventure: we both moved away to San Diego relatively recently; and within weeks of meeting each other began the amazing journey into Marriage! Hopefully this web site will fill in some of our story, and help our dearest friends know us even better than before.
In some ways it has been only a short time. Yet, we knew we were meant for each other almost instantly – and long before we dared tell anyone! Now, well over a year later, barely any days have passed where we were apart, and we feel deeper and more passionately in love every day! Please pardon us if this site has an overabundance of astonished exuberance: it has been hard to contain ourselves as we contemplate finally being married, and sharing our happiness with you – our beloved family and close friends.
We thank you in advance for making the trip to La Jolla! It is our extreme honor and pleasure to be able to share our Wedding with you. We know it means traveling from dozens of cities, and countries, just for this moment, so we have arranged a full weekend of events.
On Friday all out-of-town guests are included in the formal Rehearsal Dinner. Later that night, everyone is invited to a beach bonfire with a steel drum band. Saturday morning and daytime, you can choose among several outdoor activities, or enjoy some time to yourselves. The ceremony is at 6pm; and the reception, dinner, and dancing follow immediately at the same venue (the Scripps Aquarium in La Jolla, overlooking the Pacific and facing sunset). All events happen within a mile, and a beachfront hotel lies in the middle, please see the venues and accommodations pages for more.
The attire for the wedding is dark suit, and black tie for those in the wedding party. We recommend also bringing casual and comfy clothes for the friday bonfire, and for saturday morning activities. Please also note that La Jolla is cool in the evening, especially once the fog settles in along the coast.
Please RSVP using the quick form immediately, and then the detailed form when you have for instance flight and hotel info. Your quick RSVP will allow us to plan (and perhaps to harass you – since we won’t take no for an answer!). Also, we will love if you leave a message in our guestbook!
In July we will have a reception in Turkey, to accommodate our extended family and European friends. Please be in touch if you wish to join us there also.
