.… That is what one might expect to feel! We admit, before we met each other we both thought it would be that way. We always heard it was a big stressful thing that was supposed to hit even really harmonious couples… BUT!!! … happily, it never happened!! (Those “Barbarians” never came!) It has been fun and exciting at every stage, something we look forward to, and always a top priority for both! We have been equally involved, and chose to do a lot ourselves from scratch (like the invitations).

We hope this means that you, our beloved guests, will experience that much more of an authentic, sweet, happy occasion – on V • IX • IX   (May 9, ’09)!


Planning our wedding, planning our marriage

We both feel that wedding planning is the first major project for a nascent marriage – a rite of passage even. We've been ecstatic at how it has gone, and agree that what is on the table is not just a 6-hour party, but the rest of our lives!

It has been mindblowing, to credibly plan things like where in the world we’ll live, when we’ll try for children, and our philosophical approaches to all manner of things. What a trip!

Perhaps the reason we feel like saying this here, is it feels like such an immense evolution in our thinking when we reflect on it, that our friends might be interested to hear it from us. And to celebrate and give thanks for having found a life partner who agrees on all of these things!

Long Live Google!

We would like to give a shout-out to GoogleDocs!

Google's web-based system is perfect for what is both classic Nicole and classic Ned work style. Starting the first few days of May ’08, we got organized and created working documents to take turns filling with everything from ideas about the venue to menus to ceremony wording – and we have about 75 of them by now!

This has been very helpful to track all the items; and so much fun. We check our wedding portal for updates from each other the way some check Facebook!

So, hats off to Google, and we certainly recommend their system – it saved us from Death by Post-it Note!
