The San Diego international airport (SAN) is 15-20 minutes away, which is about a $40 taxi ride and there are also economical shuttles.

All the wedding activities are within a short distance of each other, though if you plan to explore the wider region, a rental car may be useful. There is also an extensive bus network. Further, if you wish to offer or provide a rental car share, please indicate so on the detailed RSVP form.

Flights

Direct flights are available from some of the cities where many of you live.
    St Louis:    AA387
    Boston:    AA225, JetBlue 411
    New York:    AA127, DL107, JetBlue 181, JetBlue 185
    Portland:    AS572, AS230, AS574
    DC:    UA229, UA231, US6561

It turns out cities some of you will come from (e.g. Austin) don't have direct flights but there are many convenient connections. Airlines to try for connections: JetBlue, Southwest, American, US Airways, Delta, and the other usual suspects. (FYI, Southwest has no change fees nor luggage fees.)

Also, we find that connections via cities on/near the west coast such as Los Angeles or Las Vegas are more convenient, and offer frequent and cheap alternative connections if one flight is late. We tried several routings likely for our guests, and saw round-trips in the $220-300 range.

Those traveling in from Europe might connect via New York JFK, then catch a direct flight. Also, several European as well as Asian cities have direct flights to Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

We look forward to seeing you for our wedding weekend, May 8-9, 2009! Love, N&N
